About me

I'm Henri-Hubert, but everyone calls me Henri (he/him). I studied to become an airline pilot, then changed my flight plan and transitioned to design, before eventually becoming a software engineer. I've spent over 10 years in tech working as a full-stack developer, front-end developer, tech lead, and CTO. I am also the proud father to two children, aged 8 and 5.

I spent eight years as front-end developer, then CTO at Tymate, a Lille-based agency, helping companies build their products and supporting my team's growth both professionally and personally. During that time, I worked on all types of projects, from showcase websites to SaaS products for large accounts, which taught me how to balance ambition with pragmatism.

Now I work as a freelance software engineer, focusing on software development, audits, and helping teams master React, Next.js, and advanced AI-assisted development workflows.

After hours, you'll find me experimenting with mixology and cooking italian food, or strapped into a VR headset flying planes. I've lived across several countries France, Belgium, the UK, the US, and Namibia which has fed my love for traveling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures.

If you need more info, feel free to contact me on Mastodon, GitHub, or to book a call with me.

My focus is on delivering value while keeping things simple and straightforward. That's why I'm cautious about recommending tools like Kubernetes or Terraform until they're genuinely needed.
